Spox: Putin can call on investors to come to Russia at forum
MOSCOW, Apr 29 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin will most likely focus on the country’s interest in foreign investments at the St. Petersburg’s International Economic Forum slated for June 16–18, spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday.
“There is one message: Russia is still a market with a quite big volume, it is still a country which pursues some large projects aimed at breaking the oil curse, follows an innovative development path. Of course, we must look for drivers elsewhere, not in the oil industry. This is why there are so large cooperation opportunities,” Peskov said.
He said that Putin’s speech is at an initial stage of preparation, and the forecasts regarding its content are very vague yet.
